You may have decided on candlepower because of the look, or because its green, or for any number of other reasons. But safety has to be your top priority. Whether you decide on Candle Clips or Pendulum Candle Holders, make sure you are careful and, above all, use common sense. Here are eight important tips for decorating your Christmas tree with candles:
Fold the card in half and then paste the artwork squares onto the front, towards the top (checking the opening is to the right-hand side), using the gluestick. If things are getting too messy, stop and get the kids to wash their hands and start again. Using scrap paper on the table top makes cleaning up much easier. Allow the cards to dry. If they get a bit twisted, lay the cards under a heavy book overnight to flatten them out.
Using the kids artwork, paintings and drawings from throughout the year will both involve them and use up all of that paper you have lying around. Paintings and collages can easily be turned into cute cards. Even worksheets with their colouring and writing on it can be used. Including the kids in your cardmaking does need some planning, so gather your materials and tools ahead of time. There is no surer way of boring the kids by running around trying to find those scissors when they are ready to go.
