Message - Plan ahead what messages you want to put in your cards. You can have ideas, insights, greetings and messages found in the Internet. Christmas is coming and youre all out of great ideas for gifts. Its hard isnt it? Every year coming up with something fresh for a gift idea? Want a great gift idea that just about anyone will love? Homemade candy.
Set the kids up with their artwork and old cards and get them to cut their work down to a size that will fit neatly onto your card. If you are using a standard card size of 148mm x 105mm (A4 cut in half, then folded in half) a square of 90mmx90mm will fit nicely. Accuracy isnt important; it will add to the overall charm of the cards. Get a pile of these and keep the leftover pieces too - they can be used to create a collage.
Fold the card in half and then paste the artwork squares onto the front, towards the top (checking the opening is to the right-hand side), using the gluestick. If things are getting too messy, stop and get the kids to wash their hands and start again. Using scrap paper on the table top makes cleaning up much easier. Allow the cards to dry. If they get a bit twisted, lay the cards under a heavy book overnight to flatten them out.
